Special Delivery

What does that mean to you....special delivery?  Why do messengers always say special delivery?  I mean for one it's their job to deliver it on a specific day at a specific time.  So does that mean it is special?  Why yes, yes it does.  Think about it for a sec; if it wasn't special it would have been delivered days or weeks or even months later, but instead it was delivered to you on the day it was supposed to be there.  You were important enough that the package must be delivered on time.  This is exactly how I view God's blessing of deliverance.

The bible clearly teaches us that God's delivery time is not our own and yet it is always on time.  It's never late and never veers off track.  God answers our prayers even before we pray them.  He already has the plan and answer to our prayers in motion.  The angel has been dispatched and the blessing is on its way.  But suppose you are not ready for the blessing.  Suppose when the package is delivered you are not home spiritually.  Well unlike the US Post office God is not going to just leave the blessing at the door and have it wait for you until you get home.  That is God is not going to deliver you when you are not ready for the deliverance.

I spent years sinking in sin.  I was fornicating, stealing, lying, hating my neighbor, and just plain drowning in my fleshly desires.  God at the time did not deliver me from my indulging in the world nor did he open my eyes to see how wicked and evil this fallen world really has become.  But check it out, the deliverance from being blinded by the shroud of sin over my eyes was on its way.  When the time came for me to pray and seek God's deliverance from this life I was leading that is when the package was delivered.  I mean think about it, God is so good with his delivery service that he knows the need and can deliver the need ON TIME, before we even ask for the need.  We are that special to him that he has our package well on its way.

But we have to be there to receive it....Meaning we have to seek his face, 2 Chronicles 7:14, all the while waiting for the special delivery.  I mean we should be waiting with anticipation, with faith that the package will be delivered to me and that my name will be on it.  When you order something from a vendor, you set the order specifications.  You pay for the 2 day delivery or the regular ground delivery that may take weeks to get to you.  But what you don't have control over is the day itself; you are at the mercy of the vendor who has your good.  You can make request and demands to have it on a specific day, but ultimately its not up to you.

In the physical world if a vendor does not deliver when you want it, what do we do?  We just go to a different vendor and never use them again.  But in the spiritual realm, we lose that control.  we are still at the mercy of the vendor (God), but the great thing about this vendor is that we can relinquish control over to him knowing that it is in good hands.  We may not be able to dictate when the blessing will come, but we can trust the Lord to deliver that special package.

And as I close lol..........He loves us enough that the whole world needed a special delivery.  One that required precise on-time preparation.  Scripture tells us clearly what that package was.  John 3:16 reads - For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotton Son that whosoever believeth shall not perrish, but have everlasting life.

This the special delivery package that we received.  He gave us Christ and because of Christ we now have the opportunity to make right what sin try to destroy.  Which is a right relationship with the creator of life.  God heard the pleas and cries of his future children and he delivered Christ unto us.  God's delivery time is always on time.  Could he have done so right after the fall of Adam and Eve? Sure he could.  Could he have made it so that none of this was ever needed?  Most definitely.  But in all of Gods wisdom and sovereignty he decided to do it this way.  And this way we get to experience God in a way that apparently could not be achieved any other way.

So trust God in knowing that whatever it is you are praying for the package is on its way.  It was on its way before you even prayed for it.  By you waiting on the promised delivery you show faith, patience, respect and honor to the one who created you.  With this knowledge go forth trusting the Lord a little more than you did before you came to this blog.  - Be blessed
