Second Class Citizens

So here I am getting ready to turn in for the night and the Spirit decides to speak as I am praying for strength against temptations and trials.  The Holy Spirit reminds me that Satan does not have all power.  He has some power but not all.  Only Christ alone has all power.

As humans we can't even really begin to fathom what all power means, but the bible uses such descriptions like God is all knowing, all powerful, all around us.  We say words such as Omnipotent, Omnipresent, or Omniscient.  These words say a lot about how powerful and strong our creator, our God really is.  the prefix of these words "Omni" means "all.  so Omnipotent = all powerful, omnipresent = all places or everywhere, omniscient = all knowing.  So here we got very distinct descriptions of who God is.

What does the bible say about Satan's power or character?  well Satan is called a roaring lion seeking whom he may devour (1 Peter 5:8).  He is also called the accuser and the deceiver.  Nothing described in the Bible says that Satan has the same level of Power as God.  He was kicked out of heaven; only a boss can do that to an employee not the other way around.  Satan took a third of heavens angels with him when he fell.  So if he took a 1/3 that means God still had 2/3 left over.  So simple math 1/3 + 2/3 = 3/3 or 1 whole.  So God clearly has twice as many angels as satan and yet he does not need them....

So as I pray for relief from temptation and the enemies attacks I am reminded that since Satan can't be everywhere because he is not Omnipresent so that means we get what I like to call "second class citizens".  The definition of "second class citizens", according to wikipedia, "states that despite their normal status as a citizen they have limited legal rights and economic opportunities.  Instead of being protected by the law the second class citizen is disregarded and often mistreated.

So check out what the Spirit reveals to me.  Since Satan can not be everywhere at once (that means he is not directly involved in every single sin that is carried out), he sends out an inferior representation of his power, he sends his minions or demons to do his dirty work.  These demons or second class citizens have no where near the power or authority as Satan and definitely has no where near the power or authority as God the creator.  So instead of getting the "big kahuna" we get "baby kahuna's".  That alone should bring each believer great comfort.

It doesn't deter the actual temptation itself, but it does make the scripture James 4:7 a lot easier to follow.  The bible teaches us that we have authority and power over Satan and his angels.  So the fact that we have authority and power over Satan through the power of the Holy Spirit; just think how much more power and authority we have over these second class citizens Satan is using to do his dirty work.

In no way underestimate these crafty demons, but know that they have no real power themselves.  they answer to Satan.  We have God himself living within us helping us.  We don't have a second class citizen with us.  We have an all-powerful all-knowing God's spirit living within us.  When we pray and ask for help it is a line that is directly channeled to our Father in heaven.  He instantly knows our prayers even before we pray them.  That's the kind of God I serve and hopeful you serve.  Take great comfort saints in knowing that God does not send a second class citizen to help us out.  he sends his son Christ and his Holy Spirit, which are all part of each other as one all powerful God to help us out.  Praise God for his unwavering love for us.  He loves us enough to give us his best; why not not return the favor?
