He's Still on the Job!

I hope you had as great a weekend as I had.  Church was awesome and very significant in the next coming days; because yesterday was communion Sunday for our church and many churches across the nation.  We celebrate Jesus' sacrifice for us by following his command and example and partaking in the Passover until his return for his people (1 Corinthians 11:23-26).

Pastor preached on a famous passage about the three brothers Shadrach, Meshach, and Abendego.  These three men were thrown into the firey furnace because they chose to serve God and not bow down to their  kings golden image (Daniel 3:16-26).  This cause the king to be very angry and toss the 3 men in the fire.  When the King looked inside the window to see the brothers burn to death he saw them un-singed and then the great thing caught his eye.  He saw a fourth figure in the furnace and based off of the king's testimony he saw an image that looked like the son of God (Christ).

Now the great thing about this story that my Pastor touched on is when the king realized what was going on he immediately called the three brothers to come out.  Now the king put three in, he saw four inside, but 3 came out.  Now mathematically that just doesn't add up.  Where did the fourth image go?  Where did Christ go once the brothers were saved?  Well Pastor preached he's still in the fire fighting for us.  Knowing we are still going to go through trials, he is still fighting and protecting on our behalf.  And that is great and awesome news because it reminds us that we are not alone and even after we are saved from problems the Lord is still fighting on our behalf.

But if I may take this testimony one step further.  In the Bible it says that the guards who took the brothers to the firey furnace died before even making it too the flames because it was heated 7 times hotter than normal. So if they burned up before they even got to the furnace and Christ apparently didn't show up until the king saw him.  How did the brothers make it into the furnace unscathed?  My belief is that God protected their going in and their coming out!!!

God protected the brothers before they entered the flames and protected them coming out of the flames.  And that is God's provision power.  he doesn't just protect your coming out of trials he protects you before you even go into them.  We are so busy praising God after the battle that we forget to praise him even before we get in it.  Next time you see trouble coming your way, before you even walk into it start praising God for his security and provision power in your life.  It's all good to give God praise but how much more can we show our love for him if we praise him before we get in since we know he is protecting us before we even get in.  Glory to God on high.  As we reflect on God's gifts to us and his provision this month; let us also not forget his ultimate sacrifice for us.  May your days be filled with encouragement and peace - Be blessed and a blessing.
